Police Scotland Should Be Ashamed

A few years ago I was the victim of stalking; not your usual annoying kind of stalking but the violent, intrusive, threatening kind where the stalker is mentally unhinged. Of course my first point of contact was the police, but that turned out to be a waste of time. Despite evidence recorded on my phone, on my partner’s phone, CCTV from several locations and EIGHT witnesses; Police Scotland did nothing. I got the usual lazy ignorant attitude you get with modern policing; they’re too busy, it’s not actually a crime, there’s nothing we can do. I was attacked twice and both required a visit to A & E for treatment with the second attack requiring 14 stiches to my head. The police response; “we’re too busy at the moment but you can report it online.”

So it brings us to another incident when I had a conversation with a colleague about another case of stalking. But this time it was a man being stalked by a woman. Having been stalked since January 2025 he had gathered substantial evidence. Sixteen reports to the police, but each time the previous report was “lost” or ” missing. His female stalker sits outside his bedroom window early in the morning for three or four days a week, I arranged to meet him and made a point of visiting in the morning; and there she was, sitting in her car right outside of his bedroom window, just sitting staring. She stayed for three hours just watching. If he leaves the house to walk his dogs she follows him. Several weeks ago she followed him for an entire day. She’s vandalised his front door three times, each time at a cost of over £250 to repair. These acts were recorded on his ring doorbell. The stalker then vandalised his neighbours plant pots, she smashed them all over the internal stairs and hallway. Despite calling the police nothing was done. She stalks him online, daily contact harassing his friends and colleagues online. And now she’s discovered that if she places anonymous reports online of crime or mental health she can get the police to visit his address. They’ve done so now eleven times. The police are being made to look like idiots; but the fact is they are idiots. Police corruption is up, crime is up, stalking has almost doubled in four years but police are refusing to even take reports in many cases. The stalker is actually manipulating the police to visit this gentleman at his house and the police have yet to work out what’s going on, and probably never will.

So what is the problem with Police Scotland? Well I’m going to highlight some of the issues, it relates entirely to lies and corruption and probably a big part ignorance and stupidity. They look even more ridiculous when their own tag line is “keeping people safe”.

Let’s take PC Gordon (H1061) of Professional Standards in Glasgow. Despite reporting all the issues to police, despite showing officers evidence and bear in mind my friend does have a ring doorbell; despite irrefutable proof, PC Gordon decides to lie about it all and ignore the issue. Mr Gordon being with Professional Standards was the recipient of a complaint. You’d think that Professional Standards would mean just that, unfortunately nowadays it stands for lies and corruption. PC Gordon claimed that the neighbour didn’t in fact call the police and that it was an anonymous call. Yet this elderly neighbour has assured me he did and showed me the 999 call on his mobile phone which lasted 12 minutes; the stalker managed to damage over £800 of his property. No officer has ever taken a statement or recorded the crime. PC Gordon highlights several anonymous reports (although I’m not sure how reports can be anonymous) and that on both occasions police attended. Prior to the letter from PC Gordon there had in fact been FIVE visits, all of which were caught on the ring doorbell camera.

This is where PC Gordon’s lies start to catch up with him; he states that my friend was hostile towards the officers and did not wish to make a complaint. Oddly enough the footage of all five visits show a very different scenario; aggressive police calling just after 1am demanding to know “what the hell is going on”? My friend is calm and tries to explain at which point one of the male officers states “if this is about bloody stalking again we’re going to lock you up”. The officers themselves are aggressive, threatening, loud and to be frank, ignorant. Unfortunately it’s the kind of response people have come to expect from Police Scotland. Now in the first instance my friend did not call the police, but of course they’re too stupid to realise they’re being played. Interesting to note that all of the officers who visited refused to identity themselves and did not use their body worn cameras. The first five visits all played out the same way except the fifth visit when they tried to force entry to his property and were blocked. In this case the male officer had a hissy fit and stormed off leaving his female counterpart looking embarrassed and confused.

Being reluctant to do anything with this ring doorbell footage my friend has kindly allowed me to take possession and we’ll be posting it here shortly. Police continue to call, my friend continues to be stalked, the threats and vandalism continue and Police Scotland are powerless. Well perhaps powerless isn’t the right word; more like incompetent and stupid. Being at breaking point I suspect this may take an even darker turn when my friend decides to take matters into his own hands. If you were being threatened and harassed for over a year; property vandalised, someone sitting outside of your bedroom window early in the morning for several days a week; wouldn’t you?

As for PC Gordon; he’s the poster boy for all that Police Scotland have become; corrupt, incompetent, lazy.

Mr Gordon’s written response was dated September 2025; my friend has responded twice, both by Special Delivery, both signed for, but both completely ignored. Professional Standards? Definitely their standards, but not ours.
